Two of Al Dente Pasta's Newest Spokespeople

Don’t get me wrong, I love Michael Chiarello. If I were ConAgra and had their marketing budget and could pay someone like Michael Chiarello to promote our product, I probably would. But, as I have said before, I am not ConAgra, and we do not have their marketing budget. Nevertheless, we have something every bit as wonderful, valuable, and effective. We have YOU! Our loyal fans and friends.

Take for example these two adorable girls I met at Whole Foods last Sunday. The best antidote for the times when I am freaking out about the Al Dente name confusion with ConAgra, is to get out and feel the love. When I met these girls, for that moment in time, all was right in the pasta world. Then, I introduced myself to the next person as I have a million times. “Hi, my name is Monique. I started this pasta company back in 1981.” The young woman exclaimed as if she had just met someone as famous as Rachel Ray, “OMG. My friends and I are obsessed with this pasta. Wait till I tell them that I met the owner.” All I can say is that these and other comments like them, made my day.

Many of you have assumed that we are a big company because you see
Al Dente® Pasta all around the country. Unless of course you have called our office and I have answered the phone. Or maybe you met me while I was doing a demo at Whole Foods and we would have chatted while I cooked you up a taste of our Al Dente® Spinach or Whole Wheat Fettuccine. Pretty soon you start to realize what a unique company Al Dente, Inc. is. In fact, many people consider us the perfect example of the “American Dream”.

I don’t think Marie Callender’s Pasta Al Dente is at Whole Foods, but you do see it in other grocery stores, on TV, in full page ads in magazines, and you tell me that you are confused. I have asked to talk to them, but am still waiting for a call. While we wait for them to call so that we can work this out, here is a shout out to all Champions for the Underdog, Believers in the American Dream, Pasta Lovers, Foodies, Artists, Computer Geeks, Journalists, Bloggers, Film Makers, Musicians,Famous Chefs and Amateur Cooks.

You can give ConAgra a call or drop them an email. Marie Callenders phone number is 1 800 595 7020. If you have purchased Marie Callenders, thinking that it was Al Dente® Pasta, let them know. If you merely saw it in the store and wondered if it had anything to do with Al Dente® Pasta, let them know. You’ve certainly let me know!

Equally important, please become a fan of Al Dente Facebook, link to our blog and use all the forms of social media to help us clear up the confusion. I am not Marie, Al Dente® Pasta is not Pasta Al Dente and Al Dente, Inc. is not ConAgra. We may not have a big budget, but we have each other!
