
In the pasta world, it seems that we are connected by less than 6 degrees. Case in point: Last September, while participating in the Chicago Gourmet and Wine Show, Kristin introduced herself to me. She had remembered my presentation at City Provisions, one of my all-time favorite food meccas. After just a few minutes, I knew that I just had to have her create pasta recipes for The Al Dente Canoodler. (I have a sixth sense for talent!). Kristin will be submitting at least one recipe per season. Check out her Winter Pappardelle.

Chef Kristin Cole has combined her passion for food, events, and travel into a distinct cooking and teaching philosophy that infuses her cuisine and classes. During her extensive travels and while at culinary school in Parma, Italy, she discovered a love for quality ingredients and simple food. Now based in Chicago, Kristin uses local, seasonal, and sustainable products while teaching personalized cooking classes and working with City Provisions catering. She also puts her menu creation skills to use as an event coordinator at Northwestern University. Kristin initially honed her culinary skills at the French Culinary Institiute after graduating from Williams College in 2004.
