Fusilli Bolognese

Ingredients
  

  • 12 oz Carba-Nada Fusilli
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 2 tbsp tomato paste
  • 2 15 oz cans crushed tomatoes
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 medium white onion diced
  • 1 tsp oregano
  • 1 tsp basil
  • 1/2 tsp crushed red pepper
  • salt & pepper to taste

Instructions
 

  • Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add pasta and cook al dente according to package instructions; drain. Reserve half a cup of pasta water.
  • Heat the olive oil in a large deep saute pan at medium heat. Add the beef and season with salt and pepper. Break the beef into smaller pieces with a wooden spoon and cook it thoroughly.
  • Add onions, garlic, oregano, basil and crushed red pepper. Sauté until the onions soften; about 5 minutes. Add crushed tomatoes and tomatoes paste and pasta water. Mix all the ingredients well, bring it to a boil, cover and simmer for 25 minutes.
  • Mix the cooked pasta with the bolognese sauce. Garnish with basil and serve hot.
