Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add pasta and cook al dente according to package instructions; drain. Reserve half a cup of pasta water.
Heat the olive oil in a large deep saute pan at medium heat. Add the beef and season with salt and pepper. Break the beef into smaller pieces with a wooden spoon and cook it thoroughly.
Add onions, garlic, oregano, basil and crushed red pepper. Sauté until the onions soften; about 5 minutes. Add crushed tomatoes and tomatoes paste and pasta water. Mix all the ingredients well, bring it to a boil, cover and simmer for 25 minutes.
Mix the cooked pasta with the bolognese sauce. Garnish with basil and serve hot.
